Welcome back to school to all of our children and a special welcome to our new pupils in junior infants and in other classes throughout the school. It’s lovely to see all the healthy lunches – a small treat is allowed on Friday! You will have received school books for your child. We have purchased lots of new books this year. If you haven’t paid your child’s book bill please do so. Please cover school books School Uniform must be worn every day. The green V-neck jumper or cardigan with white shirt/polo shirt and red tie looks so smart. Grey tracksuit pants (you can buy this locally or anywhere you like) can be worn on P.E.days. Can you please label your child’s uniform and coat School fund: Our school fund will commence on Friday 6th. This is our main fundraising for the school – €2 for one ticket or €3 for a family. Tickets are drawn on Friday at Assembly and there is a small prize for a pupil from each class. At Assembly children also get an opportunity to come together to celebrate happy events – certificates, prizes, medals, birthdays etc. Birthday invitations: We know some of you will be organising birthday parties for your children – however we ask that you do not send in the invitations to school please as those who are not invited get very upset. Parent and Toddler group The Parent and Toddler group operates on Wednesday mornings from 9 – 11 a.m. during term time. Cost is €2 per child or €3 per family. Open to all families in the community. Bus Pull In Area Please be mindful of the new designated bus pull in area adjacent to the rural transport depot. It is designated for bus only from 2.40 - 3.10 pm daily. This allows the buses to safely pull in for the children. Pupil Personal Accident insurance form for 2019/2020 We urge you to take up an option (most parents choose 24 hour cover). Please fill in the form and return it with money to your child’s teacher before Friday 29th September. Swimming starts on September 17th and 19th for classes from second to sixth.
