I.C.T. Suite
Each classroom is fitted with state of the art interactive whiteboards, projectors, laptops and a class computer. Every class is allocated a session in the school’s computer room which has 30 PCs. These sessions allow the children to develop their IT skills from learning to draw shapes using paint and drawing applications in Junior Infants, learn typing skills in 1st & 2nd Class, develop MS Word and Powerpoint skills in 3rd and 4th Class to introducing programming skills using Scratch in 5th and 6th Class.
The Office for Internet Safety has been established by the Government to take a lead responsibility for internet safety in Ireland, particularly as it relates to children. They have produced a range of guides for parents and children relating to Internet safety issues, including the following, “A Parent’s Guide to Social-Networking ” and “A Guide to Cyberbullying“.
