Everyone was delighted when we received an early Easter visit, not least because it came with chocolate.
Government policy, which is based on official public health advice, continues to advise against non-essential travel overseas for everyone.
It is a requirement for anyone coming into Ireland, from locations other than those with a rating of ‘normal precautions’ (“green”), to restrict their movements for 14 days, and this includes school staff, parents and children or other students coming from abroad to attend school in Ireland. Restricting your movements means staying indoors in one location and avoiding contact with other people and social situations as much as possible. Dear Amber Flag Committee in Our Lady of Mercy National School, We, at Pieta, are delighted to inform you that your school has been awarded with the Amber Flag! We would like to thank the Amber Flag Committee for their commitment and dedication to promoting Positive Mental Health in your school this year. As you know in order to receive a Pieta Amber Flag you have to set and achieve goals throughout the year and our team found your application to be an outstanding initiative promoting positive mental health. We are truly overwhelmed with the amazing initiatives being run in schools this year. You are all a credit to your school. We know how difficult the last few months have been and we are so thankful that you were able to achieve your goals either in person or "virtually". We understand it's been a trying time for the Amber Flag Committee but we hope that you can look back on your achievements throughout the year and be grateful of the time you spent together and the goals you've accomplished! Don't underestimate the positive impact that your work has had this year. We, here at Pieta, certainly don't. Kindest regards, The Pieta Amber Flag Team We received the following from Sciath na Scol and encourage pupils to wear red on Friday. If you wish to donate please see details below.
A Chara, We hope this email finds you, the staff and pupils of your school well. As you are already aware, there won’t be any Sciath na Scol games this term but we do not want this to hinder the sporting spirit within schools. Wednesday, the 16th of September marks 30 years since Cork won the All Ireland double and we would encourage all schools to go RED in honour of this momentous occasion. Marymount are also asking schools to donate where possible. Please find the details below. In February we ran a very successful "I'm a celebrity" fundraiser. Our main aim was to purchase a low ropes adventure playground equipment for the school. It was a fantastic night with great support from the all contestants including our own Mr Boys and Mrs White, the teachers who helped on the night of the event and of course all of the businesses who supported us and also the people who came to watch the fun and games. We can't thank everyone enough. We raised enough to buy the playground equipment along with two wifi teaching boards for the school and two basketball rings for the playground also. Massive thanks to the Parent's Association for all their hard work.
Some good news today: We've been awarded our 6th Green Flag for Global Citizenship-Litter and Waste 🎉🎉
