We wore blue to celebrate Autism Awareness Day in Our Lady of Mercy NS on Friday 23rd April 2021 as April is Autism Awareness Month.
In Room 12, we created a beautiful art display depicting a jigsaw. The jigsaw represents that everyone is different but we all fit together.
We also decorated yummy cupcakes with beautiful blue icing.
We had great fun with daffodils. We added different food colouring to water and we placed the daffodils in the coloured water. We used red, green and blue food colouring and we made purple food colouring out of red and blue. We left them by the window for the evening to see if the daffodils would change colours and they did!
We had great fun icing our gingerbread cookies and we really enjoyed eating them. They were delicious.
We got in the festive spirit and painted our windows for Christmas. We had great fun painting the different pictures.
Our Dinosaur Hunt
We went on a dinosaur hunt (we adapted the story of ‘We’re going on a bear hunt’).
We went through the leaves (crunch, crunch, crunch).
We went through a waterfall (splash, splash, splash).
We bounced on a trampoline (boing, boing, boing).
We went through a tunnel (oooh dark and spooky).
Aargh we saw a big, scary dinosaur.
We had great fun.
We had fun for Science Week in Room 12. We made a dancing stick man and we did the skittles experiment. We poured warm water over the skittles and it created a whirl of colour.
