We made a life size dragon for Chinese New Year and had a little parade at assembly. We also made fortune cookies which reminds me..."Do not scorn the snake for having no horns, for who is to say it will not become...A DRAGON!" Wise words indeed.
No town today, rain stopped play but what fayre at the cafe. Brian was on duty serving sausage rolls, carrot cake, fortune cookies for Chinese New Year and smoothies. Charlie was throwing people out of the library and Karolina was banning people from the Post Office but everyone was friends by the end of the day!
Following a busy morning cooking we put our feet up and relaxed to the dulcet tones of smashing drums and crashing cymbals. Alex and Catriona, also known as Bangers and Crash, came to share their percussion skills.
In the run up to Chinese New Year we entered into the spirit of things with some oriental cooking. Szechuan Chilli Chicken and Egg Fried Rice even incorporating carrots and cucumber from our Food Dudes programme and everyone had a go with chopsticks. Nice one guys.
Sadly rain prevented us going to town on our weekly visit...so town came to us.
Brian was the librarian, Charlie was the postmaster and Karolina and Amanda ran the cafe where we celebrated Lucy's birthday. Chilli con carne and boiled rice resulted in our first casualty of the year as Karolina suffered a puncture wound to the thumb. Never mind the pain, how's she gonna use her phone now?!?! We also used some fresh flat leaf and curly parsley from our herb patch. Easy on the chilli it was enjoyed by all.
